Use the magic word 'you' whenever possible, this will help focus on the readers needs. It will help make sentences shorter and engages readers at a subconscious emotional level.
Hype is counter productive.
Points to consider:
- The three second test - Can people identify in 3 seconds what this page is about?
- Appropriateness and relevance of the page content, in relation to its purpose.
- The action test – Does this homepage generate action from the reader?
- Write for the reader not the writer.
- Use familiar simple vocabulary.
- Structure content in a logical way
